Larry Bivona is committed to providing his employees at La Jobi Inc. with the experience and opportunity to give back to their community. Eager to have his staff distribute juvenile furniture (cribs, chairs, dressers, etc.) to needy families in the New Jersey area where the company is located, Larry approached K.I.D.S. with a request to arrange such an opportunity.
K.I.D.S. works closely with the military bases around the country to provide the baby gear and equipment necessary to create a healthy and warm environment for early development. In the winter of 2008, La Jobi employees visited Fort Dix military base in New Jersey to distribute cribs, playpens and other items to help bring the holiday spirit to families whose loved ones remain overseas. |

Retail companies often partner with K.I.D.S. to reach out to the communities they serve. Gymboree, known for its corporate values of “authenticity”, “having fun”, and “making a difference” partners with K.I.D.S. to bring that passion and corporate social responsibility pledge to the more than 600 communities throughout the U.S. and Canada where it has stores. In the first year of the program, K.I.D.S. helped Gymboree and its store managers distribute more than $2 million worth of new clothing and accessories to help families in need; the largest single retail product donation to K.I.D.S. to date in 2008. These families now have infant outfits to care for newborns. They can send their kids to school in new clothes with a new-found sense of pride and acceptance by their classmates. |
